# The 14-day free trial

> How to start a free trial of Pro or Business, how to keep the plan when it ends, and what happens if you don't.

Pro and Business come with a 14-day free trial. You don't need a card, and you get everything the plan includes, team members too. Free isn't a trial: it stays free for as long as you like.

Everyone gets one trial, across all their workspaces.

## Start a trial

A trial starts when you create a workspace:

- **From our pricing page.** Choose **Start 14-day trial** on Pro or Business, then sign up or sign in and set up your workspace within the hour. Hearsay shows **Your 14-day Pro trial starts with this workspace. No card needed.** (or Business).
- **With a new workspace.** If you haven't had a trial, a workspace you create with **New workspace** starts a 14-day Pro trial. See [Workspaces](https://docs.hearsay.co.in/workspace/workspaces#create-another-workspace).

If you've already had your trial, Hearsay tells you, and the workspace starts on Free. You can upgrade at any time.

A workspace you already have doesn't get a trial from the pricing page. Upgrade it on **Plan and billing** instead. See [Upgrade, switch or move to Free](https://docs.hearsay.co.in/billing/manage-plan).

## During the trial

On **Plan and billing**, the plan shows **Trial**, with **Trial ends** and **Days left**.

The workspace's owner gets an email 3 days and 1 day before the trial ends.

## Keep the plan

Owners and admins can keep the plan before the trial ends:

1. Open **Plan and billing**.
2. On the plan's card, choose **Keep Pro** (or **Keep Business**). To pick another plan, choose **Upgrade to** or **Switch to** on its card instead.
3. Pay with Stripe.

If more than two days of the trial are left, you aren't charged yet: Hearsay shows **Your trial ends on [date]. Your first payment is taken then.** With less than that left, the first payment is taken straight away.

## When the trial ends

If you haven't chosen a plan, the workspace moves to Free, and the owner gets an email saying so. Nothing is deleted: your surveys, responses, brands and settings stay.

From then on, Free's limits apply:

- 500 responses and 100 coupons a month. If you've already collected more this month, your live surveys close until the 1st. See [Monthly limits](https://docs.hearsay.co.in/billing/monthly-limits).
- Free is just you, so everyone else in the workspace is paused until you upgrade. See [Paused team members](https://docs.hearsay.co.in/workspace/team-members#paused-team-members).
- Features that are on Pro and above, such as exports, all filters and shared reports, are no longer available.
