# Your profile and account

> Change the name Hearsay shows for you, see your role, pick a light or dark theme, reset your password and sign out.

Your profile belongs to you, not to a workspace: it's the same in every workspace you're in.

## Open your profile

Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar and choose **Profile**.

## Change your name

1. Under **Personal information**, choose **Edit**.
2. Change your **Display name**, **First name**, **Last name** or **Company**.
3. Choose **Save changes**. Hearsay shows **Profile updated**.

Your display name appears at the bottom of the sidebar and in your account menu. The **Team members** list on **Workspace and team** keeps the name you had when you joined the workspace.

Your **Email** can't be changed here. It's the address you signed in with. To use a different address, sign up again with it and have an owner or admin invite that address to your workspace.

If you signed in with Google, your picture comes from your Google account.

## Your role

Under **Account**, **Account type** shows your role in the workspace you have open: **Owner**, **Admin**, **Editor** or **Viewer**. It changes when you switch workspaces. See [Roles and what each can do](https://docs.hearsay.co.in/workspace/roles).

It also shows **Member since**: when you joined Hearsay.

## Light or dark

Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar. Next to **Theme**, choose Light, System or Dark. System follows your device's setting.

## Change your password

If you sign in with an email address and password:

1. Sign out.
2. On the sign-in page, choose **Forgot password**, enter your email and choose **Send reset link**.
3. Open the link we email you and set a new password.

If you sign in with Google, your password is your Google account's: change it with Google.

## Sign out

Choose **Sign out** on your profile page, or click your name at the bottom of the sidebar and choose **Sign out**. This signs you out on this device only.

## Delete your account

There's no button for this in Hearsay. Write to [support@hearsay.co.in](mailto:support@hearsay.co.in) from the address you sign in with. See [Delete your data](https://docs.hearsay.co.in/privacy/delete-data#delete-your-account).
